Now that we've gotten over being bombarded with reds, pinks, and hearts on Valentine's Day, I've been wondering how come a day that emphasizes showing love to each other doesn't really emphasize showing love to those that really need it?
Below is a list of family-friendly volunteer ideas year that you can do year round (which are also COVID-friendly😃). I hope we can continuously show love to those who need it not just on Valentine's Day ❤.
Make cards for sick children in hospitals (check out Cards for Hospitalized Kids and Seattle Childrens Hospital).
Make care packages for the homeless or the troops (consider Backpacks USA or make a Dignity Bag for the homeless).
Donate old toys and coats to your local shelter.
Send flowers to the elderly.
Send lunch to a healthcare worker (Panera Bread, Uber Eats, and most food delivery companies offer this option)
Make care packages for your kid's teachers and classmates
Donate canned goods to your local food pantry.
It's never too late or too early to make volunteering a family tradition. Do you have any other ways you've given back? Let me know by commenting below! Thanks for stopping by XOXO!
