Non-Profit Spotlight: Project Helping

Does it get any better than being able to give back from the comfort of your home? I found out about Project Helping from a volunteer project my workplace organized. I was able to put together a Dignity Box which contained toiletries and snacks for a homeless person. You simply order the box online and it gets delivered to you. You assemble the items in the box, write a note to the recipient, decorate the box, and send it back to this organization and they get it to a homeless person. You can also choose to give the box to a homeless person you stumble across or to your local homeless shelter.

Project Helping is a non-profit organization devoted to spreading "kyndfulness" across the world through volunteering, acts of kindness, and gratitude. They host over 700 volunteer experiences every year, and you can access "kyndfulness" through their KyndHub program and Kynd Kits.

Kynd Kits are "volunteer projects in a box. Everything you need to do a meaningful project for someone in need is delivered right to your door". They offer kynd kits for a variety of communities in need - the homeless, the sick, job seekers, military, seniors, children in developing countries, essential workers, immigrants, foster children, etc. The fees for these kits range from $19 to $60.

I had a great experience putting together a dignity box , and I especially liked writing a personal note to the homeless person receiving my kit. I plan on putting together more kits in the future, and I hope you consider doing this too. Thanks for reading, and try doing something nice for someone today :). XOXO.
