Non-Profit Spotlight: Books for Africa

I'm reminiscing and throwing it all the way back to the couple of times my non-profit (Selfless 4 Africa) helped out at Books for Africa's warehouse in Atlanta. Books for Africa is a nonprofit organization that collects, sorts, ships, and distributes books to students of all ages in Africa, and its mission is to end the book famine in Africa. I have had great experiences at Books for Africa, and I would definitely recommend it as a great way to give back not just to the Atlanta community, but to the African communities receiving the books.

Did you know that you can select and take as many boxes of books as you'd like to donate to those in need? I was able to hand pick and pack boxes of science-related books, which Selfless 4 Africa donated to the Jenta-Reads Community Library in Jos, Nigeria, which we helped to build. (see pic below)

Did you also know that you can make this a family outing? Not only is this a fun and family friendly way of giving back, it is also a great bonding experience for your family. You will definitely go down memory lane seeing and touching books you grew up while instilling in your children the values of servanthood!

Did you know that you can select an African country and donate towards a specific Books for Africa project? Click here to see the list of countries and existing projects you can choose from.

Thank you for reading, and please send me a message if you have any questions about volunteering at Books for Africa! XOXO.
