Challenge Accepted

We have all seen this challenge and the black and white pictures floating around. Is it just another social media trend that fizzles out after all the hype? Do we know the history behind it? Are we truly supporting other females? Or are we just celebrating ourselves or each other? Is there anything wrong with our intent behind these black/white pictures?

For me, this challenge has given me the chance to educate myself about the Turkish femicide, and I'm using the opportunity to share my knowledge (click here and here). It has also reminded me of the most likely increase in domestic violence cases because more time is being spent at home. I am supporting the Georgia Coalition Against Domestic Violence (GCADV) with a monetary donation. GCADV has member organizations with hotlines and shelters that remain open to help during this pandemic. If you need help, please call the 24-Hour Statewide Hotline 1-800-334-2836 or visit GCADV for other ways you can support. Below are some other ways you can support. Please comment below or share other ways you have or will pay it forward this month, no act is too small!
